Justicetown are a Scottish rock band who are the real deal.Their songs speak of all aspects of modern life, the good and the bad. The band is fronted by songwriter David MacMillan (cousin of Scottish contemporary composer James MacMillan).
Their debut album This Is Not Food was released in 2004 with the band quickly developing a cult following. The album consists of inspiring love songs like You’re My Lover to haunting introspective works like Shadows and Desolate then onto the upbeat anthemic This Is Just The Start. A true roller coaster of emotions!
The media have been quick to pick up on this new exciting band with extensive regional radio plays and Tom Morton of Radio Scotland talking of their innovative style which sets them apart from their contemporaries.
At the end of 2005, the line up was augmented by the addition of Keyboard player Colin Wallace who added a new dimension. He was joined shortly after by drummer Chris Lennon who took over the drum stool from Sandy Sweetman who left to pursue fame and fortune in a wig and spandex with the mighty Glamd.
The new line up played throughout the summer of 2006 in and around Dumfries before heading for the studio to record some of their new material. The 4 track EP titled, 'Don't look up' featuring: She's the one, Damaged, Livin on the edge and a live version of Just one night was released on the 19th of January 2007 with a launch party at the Venue, Dumfries. Special guest was singer-songwriter, guitarist, Lewis Fergusson making a rare solo appearance without his new band.

A great night was had by all at the Venue launch party. The boys played a tight solid set that went down well with the crowd and brought an excellent review in the Dumfries Courier the next Friday.
Thanks to all the gang who came to cheer the band on at the final of South West Sound Live 2007 last Sunday, a great day of local live music but sadly the boys didn't make it through, nae justice for Justicetown!
From July 2007 Justicetown will be going back to their raw, blues/rock guitar roots and touring as a three-piece band without Colin Wallace on keyboards. All the best to Colin for his contribution over the last year and a half.
